Mines meant to occupy the driveway and look cool, it also doubles a storage for the extra baseball stuff when I need room in the Burb and it gives the kids a place to go behind and take a whiz so the neighbors wont see them when they can get inside

mine is being built for both on and off road.

I built two. One, in Baja Mexico built with 383 for torque, but 8:1 compression to burn lousy Mexican gas. 4.56 gears with 33 inch rubber gives me great low end for the sand and boat launching (see avatar). Since I leave it at my cabin down there, it never sees freeway speeds anyway. It also hauls well water. The latest project truck is built for the US only and has 5.7 TBI motor from a 93 Yukon. I went with shackle flip for lift and reasonable ride. 4.11 gears with 35 tires give great freeway drivablity but the granny low in the SM465 provides trail low end. The purpose for this one is street/trail for desert fun and hunting/camping/fishing where the masses can't go. Oh, and I almost forgot, I needed to feed the family of our local body shop!! lol except for the empty wallet!

Building mine to be a trail rig. Like Colorado trails-ready. Moab is NOT where I wheel. I like tree-bashing, rocks, dirt. I hate mud. Colorado trails tend to have plenty of everything. Rocks, whatever. It is still (and will remain so for the foreseeable future, a DD.
