Re: Wich one?? Low Low range ORD\'s Doubler or??>>>>>>
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that the Atlas cases (even the Atlas III) have a 500 ft.lbs. torque limit. I realize that a motor like that is the exception and not the rule but we all know that big blocks fit these trucks VERY EASILY. I've never seen it in print but I've *heard* that the 205 torque rating is in the 900 ft.lbs. range - read :twice the strength for a fraction of the cost. Also if the Atlas breaks I don't think you can get parts for it, I think you have to send it back to AA for repair (*IF* it broke).
Something else to consider, the Atlas is roughly $2500. For $2500 you could get a 205 (AND convert it to 32 spline), a 203, the Doubler and possibly have money to build the tranny. I'm not knocking the Atlas products but I don't think anybody can successfully argue that the Atlas would be stronger than the Doubler set up.
