Wife's 67 Power Wagon Build -Cage complete!

New custom clutch parts from ClutchNet.

The small diameter dual friction disk needed to have the large coarse splines for the NV4500.
This custom set was less money than the Centerforce unit that grenaded last time we were in Moab.

Test fit after ring gear installed.

I have "test bearings" for setting up the Dana 60.
Honed the inside diameter of a good used set to +0.002 so I can get the shim packs perfect, then remove them for pressing on the new ones for the final install.

Clearance issue on one of the bearing caps.

It was too close for comfort so I made some extra room!

Custom Clutch Info.

Bad ass! good fab work! Where did you get the custom clutch?

Clutch Net built the clutch based on information about the motor and HP, trani, what it would be used for.

Guy was GREAT!!!:waytogo:

Very efficient and knowledgeable.
Had the parts to Canada in 2 weeks from order date!!!:eek1:
Oleg is the guys name, he is the [email protected]

It was a challenge for him as he had not been requested to do anything like it before.

Truck has never worked better!!!:woot:

Love the the idea of the OX locker. This way she does not have to worry about the air compressor breaking down or any type of moisture issues. Good deal! :thumb:

Just curious, but why did you stick with a Mopar engine? As you said, not much is stock with this rig, wouldn't it have been easier to run a Chevrolet?

Martin

Martin....I should have had you talk to my wife!!

Believe it or not Kelly did her homework about what parts she wanted on the old beast
She wanted to use as much Mopar stuff as possible so it didn't apear to be a resurrected Dodge with GM drive-train.

I would have been OK with all GM!

The 1 ton axles were available in both.
The Atlas case is sort of "non specific" to either.

I did install a GM power steering pump and box, with the RockRam system

Only area where she didn't want to compromise was the engine..??:dunno:
Had her valve covers picked out early in the engine project.

Figured if the whole build turned out nice there would be a bunch of curious Mopar people, checking it out, that would be bummed to see a bow-tie under the hood.

As long as she is satisfied with the Power Wagon the way she wants it then life is good!!

"Happy Wife---Happy Life!!":waytogo:

She Knows What She Wants 2INSANE..

You called it!!
Exactly the reasons she wanted it!

She chose different parts for her truck for multiple reasons:

1-Kelly figured she would "earn" more respect from a mostly male dominated sport by running a manual instead of going the "easy" rout and using an auto.

2-Didn't want her truck to be a drive-train clone of the Sub.

3-The Manual locker seems more proper for the old truck.

4- We learn more about what pros and cons there are to some of this stuff by having different equipment on the 2 rigs.

All I can say is what are we doing next??:haha:

Good progress..... :waytogo:

Mad props to your wife for being out there with you knocking out this project. Must be true love.
