Looks like I may have made it just a bit too tight.
By having the connectors installed on 45 degrees, it allows for good access to the 2 bolts that secure them together.
Problem is it needs to offset the full 1.75", or the size of the pipe in order to remove it.
I maintained around 1/4" gaps in the closest areas.
Looks like I'll need to make a section of the rear legs removable at the bottom to provide space for the rear to "drop out" of the joiners.
I'll get to it tonight.
Update in the AM.
Dentist appointment later today to see how much damage I did to my gums over my front teeth.

The only affordable takeaway from your post was the bullnose flap disc. I'll definitely seek those out.....

Absolutely does take me back!!
Many crazy stunts on my bike with some injuries, numerous wounds from skateboarding!
This one could have been much worse.

Dam John, I opened this thread expecting to have anxious enthusiasm and you deliver with a face busting pic....your awesome man....as Greg says, if you get hurt in the shop it is required to "document or it didn't happen"....glad your on the mend brother.

Finally get a weekend without interruption working on the Power Wagon cage!
Stitches are out of my face and I'm almost good as new!!
Removed the cab cage, in sections, reassembled and welded all the joints then cleaned up the connector welds so they are less noticeable once painted.

Cage work for the rear.
Front hoop is 2" DOM, above roof to later mount some lights and to also protect the rooftop tent being mounted.
Rear facing bars are 1.75" DOM mounted low enough to keep the tent low but not obstruct the rear window.
Cross support bars are 1.5" DOM coped with an offset to keep them flush to the top of the side bars.

This entire cage will be easily removable.
Added the cross bar at the front, and the "V" will have supports down to the mini tub and over to the shock hoops, as well as through the box side to the DOM tube built into the fenders.

Now to try the tent at the install height.
The ladder was expected to be long enough with a bit to spare---and it was.
This thing will make things a bit more comfortable and it's going to be nice to be up off the ground for many reasons!
Travel cover comes off.
The tie down straps are released.
Extend the ladder and use it as leverage to open the tent....it pops up as you unfold the base.

Bedding stays in and there is a nice foam mattress already in the unit.

Weight of the unit is under 100lbs.----not including the cage work that was planned anyway, just modified a bit to accommodate the new sleeping arrangements.
