Wilson's 1986 k5 blazer build

Update: someone stole my flexplate turning tool, so I am buying a new one of those and a piston stop from a guy tomorrow off craigslist. I got a new distributor cap and I saw that under the coil where the metal spring is, it didn't have a good connection. So tomorrow I will be making sure if the TDC mark is correct and adjusting the valves (I'm pretty sure I am a pro at that by now or just really am horrible at it), stabbing the distributor and hopefully firing it up! As soon as that is done I will be finishing installing my seats...Going to be a busy day tomorrow with hopefully some good updates

If the plugs are out, you can turn it by hand. Or just clamp a vice grips on the flex plate.

Or you can use a screw driver or prybar in the teeth. You don't need a special tool.

Well used the piston stop and found out my TDC mark on the balancer was way off. Adjusting valves now and going to see if it will start

That doesn't sound good. Something is not right then, will be hard to set timing if you don't get it figured out.

I thought using the piston stop showed me the true TDC...Is there anything bad with it being off? I marked the new position that the true TDC is at

There are multiple balancers and timing pointers. You have a mismatched set.

The blazer build may be put on hold a few months. An opportunity came up to buy my girlfriends uncle's 67 mustang. I am getting it shipped here within the month. It has the original 289 and he is the 2nd owner. A couple pics that I've gotten of it
