I don't have anywhere local that sells WIX and I liked being able to just swing by NAPA when I needed one instead of having to order them and wait. Why not just buy Wix directly? When you buy a rebrand you may not get what you expect. I get Wix filters from rockauto.
When engine masters did a test a few years back, the K&N gold was the best. I think Wix was 3rdI don't have anywhere local that sells WIX and I liked being able to just swing by NAPA when I needed one instead of having to order them and wait.
In some reading last night, it seems Fram's Ultra filters are performing the best in testing down to 15 micron. May be time to give the orange can another try since they're readily available locally?
Here's the thread. K&N wasn't in the test but the Fram did perform. When engine masters did a test a few years back, the K&N gold was the best. I think Wix was 3rd
I'll check it out. Was it an ISO test or something they devised?I was actually referring to S6E5, engine masters does their own test
Thus is an important design element. You do not want the oil filter restricting to much flow.Dyno test in relation to micron filtration, and how it affects the lubrication. Part of their concern was that you can have the filter this do too much i.e. too restrictive in it actually hurts oil flows through the engine, causing premature wear in order to give you higher filtration.
Unfortunately, because their episodes are listed through Amazon prime, they’re not usually available on YouTube
I dunno. I feel like the water is even muddier. Now you know

I remember back in the late 70's and 80's when Allied Signal owned FRAM filters, and they where made in the USA. They where considered the best filter on the market. I used them all the time on my 1968 C20 Suburban, 1970 SS Chevelle, 1970 Buick GS Skylark 455, 1969 Plymouth GTX 440 six pack, 1971 Ford Ranchero GT 351 Cleveland, and a couple of Pontiac GTO's with 400 cubic inch motors that I flipped for a profit back when those kind of cars could be had for a $1000 or less. Some filters I have. The HP is kinda old, I stopped buying them when they changed.
