WL: 1975 K5 (previously "Another new (to me) K5.")

Depends what gears are in the axles, and if I can find a set of cheap tires. I have a set of 33x12.50x16.5" BFG All Terrains. If I can't find a decent set of 15" tires for cheap, I'll probably throw a set of 3/4 ton axles under it just so I can run a set of 8 lug wheels. Also if the axles have 3.08's in them, I am going to replace them. I was thinking about four speed swapping it, but I realized that I have that 350/TH350/NP205 complete drivetrain in that 1980 GMC Jimmy. I might just use that. It will be an easy swap. Plans could change yet tomorrow though, who knows?

does it still have the carpet sill at the rear of the bed? If it does, are you gonna use it? I'm looking for one.

It has some very non OEM shag carpet. I wish it still had factory rear carpet. So no, no sill. I can check if the 80 GMC has it, or is that different?

Burlington is actually pretty close to Nebraska, isn't it? I am on the Eastern side of Nebraska though.

It is actually, a hour, hour and half at the most. Eastern Nebraska would be a pretty long drive though. We are about 6.5-7 hours from Kansas City

That is a good find...but you need to go back and get the rest of those from that guy! You could do quite well reselling them.

Meh, that's not really my style, I never really try to make a buck on car stuff.

Are you even going to fix the rust on that blazer?

Plan on fixing the rust?

I have no intentions to. I really don't care about rust, and I have no patience for body work. I might cut the rockers out and weld in some sliders, but that's no guarantee. I hope to get it running, and clean it up a little, and see where it goes from there.

I did do my first mod before I even got it unloaded from the trailer. I prefer these later model steering wheels to the original wheels, and the OEM wheel was covered in sticky goo. Didn't want to deal with that when moving it around.

What's the name of the factory color? Definitely something I'd consider painting my K10.

I read it on the RPO sticker, but I forgot. I'll
have to look.

Air and cruise but no tilt?

I thought I read once that you got a bunch of rally wheels...but the ones you got on your k10 would sure look right on that blazer! :thumb:

Yesterday I started cutting up my 1980 Jimmy. Pulled the plug on the oil pan. Milkshake......

So today I bought a 1979 K20. Has a rebuilt 402 in it. Alas it has a TH400/NP203 behind it.

This is the Jimmy I started cutting up. The 350 runs fine, but when I pulled the plug on the oil pan, a nice milkshake ran out.

So I bought this one for $700. It's more than I wanted to spend, but the 396 is in pretty good condition.

The pics of the blazer made me think back to my grandfathers blazer. His was a 73 same color and all.
Makes me want to track it down and buy it now.
