Anyhow, I went with the TH350C/NP205 combo for now. If it doesn't work, or goes out, I'll take a TH700R4/NP208 combo out of a parts Blazer and use it. Unless I come across a good buy on a hydraulic SM465/NP208 combo, or better yet, an NV3500.

The nv3500 doesn't have a compound low does it? I'd love a better shifting manual but the 4500 swap is just too much...

The th350/203 combo I had in my old blazer was awesome on snow and ice. The 203 is a heavy SOB tho.

What exactly is the power loss from a th400 vs the th350 and 700r?

I swear to God!!!!!!!!!!!!! One week I am going to drive up to Nebraska or Cali or the Dakota's with my car hauler and a big wad of cash.....

You guy's come by 4x4's and good parts like it's nothing.....

1 ton axles.. Eh....no problem...what ratio you need...
Big blocks.... Meh.. tripping over them....take your pick...
T400/203's.. How many do you want...?
205's... Use them for doorstops.
Cool old hotrods...just sittin in the fields ....

****....I can't find anything like that within 500 miles of Houston...
and if I do,,,they think it's gold plated....

Rant off.....

I only have four or five big blocks.

I do know where to get more though....

I `ve been told a th400 will use 30 hp over a th350.
Not sure if that is right on not.

John dropped 75 horse to the rear wheels in his Camaro when he swapped a TH400 into his Camaro in place of the 4 speed.

Engine and tranny are both in place. Need to install the radiator, find the correct drive shafts, and them hook everything up, and it should be driveable. I do need to find some tires for it.

Anyone ever had a Burbank lift kit?

Looks to be 4". Springs in the front, blocks in the rear.

TH350C/NP205 installed behind the 396.

I blended in some fresh ethanol. I'll probably fill the tank full tomorrow.

Never got the tank filled. Got two driveshafts under it. Had it I. Gear on the hoist, and it seemed to work. Need to fix the brakes, and then it should be semi-driveable.

Tried to bleed the brakes, but the master cylinder is shot. I'll have to get a new one tomorrow. I did drive it. I had to shut the engine off and aim for a snow pile to stop it though......

Better luck tomorrow!

Drove it to the gas station. Put in $70 worth of fuel to top off the 25 year old crap. It runs a lot better now.

I need to decide what I am going to do for axles and tires. I like the way it looks on 33's, but I don't have any 33x12.50x15" tires. I do have a set of 33x12.50x16.5" tires, but I'm not sure I want to swap in 3/4 ton axles.

1973 Blazer

My friend asked me to find him a 73-75 K-5 Blazer

Took 2 days 100 miles away

Drove it home $1600.00

Runs perfect

Are They normally harder to find ?

For Sale: 1973 Chevy Blazer K-5 Cheyenne Edition. Same model that Sheriff Brody drove in Jaws!

All original drivetrain including 4-bolt 350 (edelbrock carb and intake), 350 turbo transmission, 203 transfer case, 12 bolt rear, Dana 44 front. Truck drove very well but was parked outdoors several years ago. Needs new steering box. Body has rusting in all the typical spots and needs work. All panels are available through aftermarket. Interior is in pretty good shape. Top of truck comes completely off from windshield back. Original Fiberglass top included and in good shape.

There are still TONS of aftermarket parts available for these trucks. I had some big ideas about doing a frame-off resto , but never got around to it. . .

I'm going to swap axles one way or another. It has 3.08 gears. I have a set of 3.42 geared ten bolts under a 1988 Suburban that I'll probably use. I have a set of OEM 15x8" white spokes I just had blasted/painted that I want to put under it.
