WL: 1975 K5 (previously "Another new (to me) K5.")

I've got a 465 just begging for a home. Too bad you're not closer.

I have 4 I know he has more than that. I think he should fix the 4500 he has.

I think you would like a 205 synchro. Mine shifts great. Besides you don't need a bunch of ratio with that badass 402.

Really digging the Nebraska "patina" on you K5. Looks a lot like the New England "patina." :waytogo:

I just love the look that this truck has, Full convertible, 70's Yellow, white spokes, and 33x12.50s

Absolutely love it. love everything about it.

Also, as far the kinked hoods go, On a friend of mine's truck we bolted a strip of metal up both sides of the hood, the hood definitely felt a lot less flimsy.

that reminds me that I got to get those rear bumper posts put back on...and those are there, along with the crumple zone (kink) in the hood to prevent decapitation...which was an issue back then...:zombie4:

Put some stiffners under the hood where the factory crumple zone is. Still kinked.

The hinges are hosed down with silicon spray, and working nicely. It kinked in front of the hinges, not at the crumple zone....

You didn't use the braces from LMC did you? Those are worse than putting a piece of paper under the hood.

I used a length of slotted shelf brackets that were "U" shaped,to beef up the hood on my 77 K2500,that had been kinked ,it fit perfectly inside the groove near the outer edge of the hood, and they were pretty thick metal and galvanized, easy to pop rivet to the underside of the hood...after oiling up the hinges with those on,it showed no sign of flexing or wanting to kink again--but probably would still let the hood fold up as intended in a collision..
