Wl: 1982 k30 3+3

I took it down the road after I installed the Hi-steer, and had some serious death wobble. I then bolted the OEM tie rod back in, so I had a steering stabilizer. I have since built a mount for the steering stabilizer coming off of the driver side spring U-bolts. When I finish it up, I will take some pictures (with only one tie rod . . . ) and post them up. I was wondering how long it would be before someone noticed that.

Haha I figured you had already removed it and figured somebody else had already said something..but nope so I had to give you some friendly ribbing :wink1:

It is kind of fun, because everyone tells me it is too big, and won't work as an offroad rig. The last time we went to Tuttle Creek in Kansas, a buddy of ours went with a Samurai. He was impressed with the full size Chevy's.

Haha yeah I get that from the Jeep guys a lot up here on the tight trails of the Pac Northwest :D

I totally understand. I would question it, if someone else posted it. I need to finish working on it, but I moved two hours farther away from Tuttle, so I haven't spent much time on it lately.

Yeah, but you Blazer (which I love), is tiny in comparison to my K30.

Have to log in to see them.

I figured as much.

A friend just sent me a text, and told me to check out Google Street View of my old address. My address use to be 1240 West Washington Street, Lincoln, NE 68522. So I checked it out. You can see my Suburban (with it's half painted roof), a bunch of parts I took out of my pickup box to go to Tuttle, and my K30 backed in at the end of the dead end street.

Oh yeah I know I have an 89 6 pack. It would be impossible to wheel a Crew LB on the trails up here. My K5 is huge by comparison to 95% of the rigs up here. Width is the main issue, but if I was much longer I couldn't run the trails at all.

Here is one of the corners..I have to three point this turn, and there are lots that are tighter with trees :D Reason my doors look the way they do!

My bedside above my left rear tire is on a tree out of the frame in this pic. I'd love to see a longer fullsize and the carnage that would ensue on a couple of these trails :D

Yeah, I have mashed up some tin work on mine, getting around in trees. The last time I went, I had to use a sledge hammer on my rockers, in order to get my passenger doors to close again. I should probably build a set of sliders . . . .

Hey Brian, is that Walker Valley???

And a big X2 on how tight the trails are up here... The Busy Wild trail at Elbe you can't fit a fullsize in until you've smashed the sides, front, back and all four corners in a few inches...

And I can't see the vids you posted on facebook... Do you have them uploaded anywhere else???

They are just pictures. There was a guy taking videos of me last time I was there, but he said he didn't use the internet.

Yeah they were both taken on the lower portion of Upper Mainline.

Wow that is a cool truck. Can't wait to get mine done. But, mine is gonna be a mall crawler, no hard core wheeling, that is what the other truck is for....

I haven't done much with this thing for the past couple of years. I am several hours away from anywhere to go wheeling, and I bought a much nicer (and smaller) 1990 K5. That being said, I popped the engine in my K5 so I put the tires from it onto this until I get around to swinging a new engine into the Blazer (I have one in a 1994 K1500 I bought, I am just short on ambition).

Here is how it looks on 38's (325/85R16 Michelin XML's).

I am still running two tie rods. Need to break down and finish the hydro assist, but there are a lot of things I need to do (shocks?). I did however finally change the rear lift. I removed the 4" lift blocks that were originally on it, and replaced them with 1" zero rates. I also installed a u-bolt flip kit from ORD while I was doing the zero rate install. I installed the zero rates so they moved the axle back 1". I should have moved it back 1.5", but oh well. I also replaced the OEM rear shackles with 7" DIY4X shackles. My rear shackle angle is not good. They are pretty much straight up and down. I should move my shackle flips forward a little bit, but I am going to see how this works. After I got done, I took it out and beat on it a little bit. I am going to have to pick up some more sawzall blades, because I am in need of some serious fender trimming up front with the 38's. Here are some pictures from flexing it out in the ditch.
