WL: 1990 K5 (California to Nebraska on 38" rubber. (WARNING: Lots of Pics))

Okay, so I didn't accomplish anything on the California K5, but the Suburban has a Dana 60 under it.

Pics after I get out of the shower and make some supper.

Here are some pictures of the CUCV wheels I had blasted when I dropped them off at the body shop today. It cost me $40 to have them sandblasted, and the kid at the body shop charged me $70 to have them painted white and clear coated.

The pictures of the Dana 60 in the Suburban are in the other thread.

I didn't get any pictures of the engine for the 1985 K5. Imagine a greasy orange 350 out of a 1977 K20. Got it?

No, that is the only set I have. A kid I know gave them to me off of his CUCV. I am going to have them painted white, and then put them and a set of hub caps on my 1987 V10 in place of the Rally Wheels that are on it right now.

I'll have to take some pictures I guess, but I drove this thing for the first time in months today. I finished the 35 spline stub shaft and Yukon lockout install today.

The front output bearing on my NP205 is shot. Ordered a new one from ORD. The front driveshaft could also use some attention.

Like that?

I had to take it out and make sure the hubs were working.

What did you think of the quality of those hubs when you fondled them? They look good with your center caps.

They seem to be a lot better quality than the Warns and the Super Winchs that I have blown apart. Have to see how they hold up to the abuse, but hopefully I don't have any problems now with the 35 spline stub shafts.

Strangely enough, I would swear that exact ditch is about a 100yds down the street from my house. My yard has a ditch like that I am itching to drive through once my driveshafts are in.

That thing flexes its a$$ off, looks good.

It depends on the farm, and the size of it. This year was so bad I seen smaller farms using firetrucks to try and flood their fields and get water to them. I think most farms (depending on how late they got their crops in) only produced 40% or less. And alot of them just combined it up for compost and are hoping to make it up next year, so a total loss for some of them. So I assume they are David vs Goliath against the insurance companies trying to recoup some money.

My well is 330ft deep, and I live close to a natural spring. My well was sending up mud water in my faucets, and my cistern (for those that dont know its rainwater collected by gutters, at my place anyways) was completely dry. Its 1000 gallons. We got hit hard this year by no rain, then right as the farms were getting reading to harvest the 3 or 4 plants they had, it monsooned and ruined rotted alot of the corn and beans off the stalks before it dried up enough. This year was a complete disaster.
