WL: 1990 K5 (California to Nebraska on 38" rubber. (WARNING: Lots of Pics))

Yeah, when I did the shackle flip on my K30, I used the ORD shackle flip. Then I realized I wanted longer shackles, so I bought the DIY4X shackles. That is when I realized it would have been more convenient to just buy the DIY4X shackle flip, and have the ability to make you own shackles easily.

Built a traction bar for it today with a Ruff Stuff kit. It needs some more work, but it is coming along. I am excited to see if it does much better down in Kansas now.

Silly Jeeps and their tiny axles.

The cross member I made. I should have used slightly heavier angle iron on the ends.

Yes I made that cut with a sawzall. Yeah, it was the way wrong angle.

The finished traction bar.

I have one in the classified section if you want it.

I was joking, and I also wrote the wrong side. I broke the driver's side mirror, but I have plenty of them here at home. I always keep the doors off of pickups I part out for mirrors, glass, handles, etc.

Thanks anyway.

I was being a jackass is the short version.

The long version goes that there is a hill climb at Tuttle Creek called "Back Flip Hill". I think it is meant for the buggies that just hammer it, not for crawling. Well John tried it a few times to no avail. Then I thought I would try it. Tried it once just climbing it. No dice. Backed down and hammered it. Made it quite a ways up, but then it started wheel hopping real bad, went to clutch it and come back down when the OEM seat back broke. It reclined all the way with my weight against it, and then I could not reach the brake pedal. Each time I would pull myself back towards the brake pedal another bump would knock me back out of the seat. So the Blazer came flying down the hill backwards, hit a berm on the passenger side which flipped it on its side, and then slammed into John and Craig's trucks.

Hitting their rigs was the worst part. If it had just effed up my junk I wouldn't have cared, but I feel like a dick for hitting their stuff. Especially Craig because he just got his together and narrowed, and it looked really nice. John is swapping another cab onto his rig, so not as big of a deal.

This is looking down the hill I rolled down.

The second one. My buddy Klover had to add a bar to hold up the back of the fronts that don't recline. I think Marty should replace the back seat too it almost is laying flat too.
