WL: 1990 K5 (California to Nebraska on 38" rubber. (WARNING: Lots of Pics))

That's not bad for a trip that far. Im wanting to do a 52 swap up front but im kinda worried about drivability because I drive it on the road more than off road

It did fine. The heater core leaked a little, no big deal. I have come to find out that the Michelin XML's are kind of a poor performing off road tire, but they go down the road great.

The are a little washy at 85-90

It is there, but it's not bad. When I first got in and drove it after handing the money over and heading out of down it kind of scared me, I won't lie. Took it to the gas station, filled it up and got out on the highway, I told the other two it was going to be one long ass ride driving like that. By the next fill up it didn't even bother me. Now when I drive it, I honestly don't notice it. It just seems natural. Also, like John said, we ran 75-85 most of the way on the interstate, and did top 90 at one point. That was on a GPS, not the speedometer.

The biggest thing I did that improved how it felt was getting rid of the stupid little aftermarket steering wheel that the previous owner had installed and putting an OEM steering wheel back in it.

went river wheeling with martin, he is still a complete jack a$$. That is all.

My Dana 60 is tore apart. I moved the axle forward an inch and a half, then I looked at my driveshaft and scratched my head. Called my driveshaft guy, and he is out of town for the weekend. Might move it to just an inch forward and wait till I get my driveshaft retubed.

Possible pictures tomorrow.

It's back together. Ish. . . .

Should be good enough for the river run. The front driveshaft looks like it is about to come apart, but I went and flexed it out, and it is still in one piece. Also took it into town for fuel, and climbed The Cut on the way home, went right up it without any trouble.

I took it and flexed it out when I got it back together, but it was too dark to get decent pictures.

Took it out again this morning and flexed it out in the light. The driveshaft stayed together.

I drove it today.

I had to make room in the quonset for the straight truck.

I took a set of CUCV wheels to a body shop in Loretto to get painted so I can put them on my 1987.

I contemplated putting the Dana 60 under my Suburban.

I have an engine sitting outside for my 1985 K5 Blazer.
