Work Truck Build : Now featuring a budget!

I've heard they are supposed to be stored upright (never read into it), but almost every welder that works for us carries their bottles the exact same way and never had any issues.

Only rules I ever got from working with compressed cylinders was during transport to remove the regulators and put the caps back on. Other than that keep em secured and you're fine

I'll check the law but I dont think there is anything illegal about it. I was thinking of adding a crash bar over them. Basically a really beefy piece of angle over the gap. Maybe I'll do it when I start the racks.

Threw the tanks on and went over to my shop and decked it. Still need to add back up lights on the wings, license plate light, trailer hookup. Gonna order some pucks to put a body lift on the cab so I can start on the racks next week.

Also need to figure out what Im going to do spring wise to handle the stuff like hippies said.

If it comes down to it, you can get a set of bags cheap and install them.

I'll say after towing with a set of inflated bags they make all the difference.

Agreed. I have the Firestone air ride assist on my 2000 Silverado 1500 and it has been a life saver towing the heavier stuff.....like my K5. I installed mine about 4-5 years ago and I got the systems without the compressor or tank and it ran me around $200. I have to use my compressor to inflate it or my portable Co2 tank but its been a great addition to my Silverado. I do want to add the compressor in the near future, though.

i had the same thing. no compressor. just bags with lines and schreader valves out to the rear bumper. made it easy to top off and level the truck side to side while loaded and towing. I think mine was like $300 with all the brackets and lines.

Going to pick up new cab glass and.two.fenders tonight for $150.

I've got a non functional water temp gauge in the cluster I want to fix. Already changed the sensor and the gauge sweeps when you key on like it works fine. Is there anything else to check other than a broken wire?

That looks like it should work well for you. Is the bobcat going sideways in the front, or in the midle? It's hard to tell how much space there is there.
