Xj steering shaft

I pulled an 8.1L engine out of the van so I had extra parts. I have had no length issues. It doesn't really seem to have larger joints visually than the XJ shaft, (i have one in my '91 crew) but in my mind it was designed to steer a 1 ton van so it must be stronger, right?

It does look like the one from dorman.

Van shaft, G3500 2002 into a '90 K5. 2wd steering box for crossover but the shaft end should be identical as 4wd.

And a shock hoop in the way of it all.

to buy a new dorman is only about 100 bucks less than a borgeson shaft. Im inclined to think its woth the money if I cant find another used shaft

been doing some "googling" and it seems there may be some durability issues with those columns. Sounds like overtime there may be some wear in the slipshaft that starts causing a "clunking". Still trying to figure it out.
Yes this true. Especially when installing in a square. Since the slip has to messed with. Depending on method used to change the length, durability may vary

Meh, sounds like my dads ‘06 CCLB. Sucker makes a lot of noise down there. As long as there is no complete failure.

The.van shaft doesn't need to be messed with like the Cherokee. It just slips.
