I think the step bars need to come off!

Yes!!!
Funny story.... Colby’s 01 had those steps.
Until he was getting into it one day after he just got the truck, he slipped on them and fell face first onto his drivers seat! Could have been a bad day if he landed on something else! But they came off the next day. Looks way better without them.

I did the triangular point bushing Max 02 posted earlier. I think they are Z71 units. To me, the seem to be much better than the rounded surface bumps

Seems as the listing description says Z71 as well.

Reset engine oil and fuel filter minders....checked the engine trouble code....it was a brake switch malfunction...probably when I hooked up the trailer, the brakes didn't work right away. I cleared the code, and 300 mi later, its still off.
Went to Toledo to pick up a wrecked 79 Vette....wanted it for the disc brakes, and rear diff. A rebuilt 3.08 unit w a fiberglass monospring. About 2k worth of parts in the rear alone. I would use that diff for a road trip in my 64.
Donating the body to Kert for a drag car build. Ill try and sell a few other things that might have some value.

Well clearly those wheels can’t be for sale!

Those wheels make it look like a clown car...and there was only one, its broke around the inner circumference.

Z71 bumps.... same application, slightly different numbers, a little different design.

I got the pointed style. That is the Z71 jounce bumper. I know my truck is smoother with them than it was but my old ones were totally shot. I would think the rounded style might be harder riding? But i bet you wouldn`t be able to tell the difference if you installed the different styles. Just wondering if you sent one back to get the same set or said F it and stuck them in there?

Likewise, mine road a lot better after going to the Z71 pointy ones. And likewise, my OEM bumps were completely destroyed. So, "riding a lot better" could easily be just another example of the K&N fallacy. It would be nice to see someone do a back to back comparison.

Just put the pointed ones.....667’s on the 99.
Figured those might be a bit better with less weight on them than the diesel in the 06.
The rounded ones....666’s will go on that.

Here is whats left that I took off
Put the tires/wheels from the 06 on the 99.
And the new ones installed
Ill be taking my 99 on a IA, NB, KS, MO trip. I’ll evaluate them on the trip.

Im sure Dean, seeing as how the others were shot, but I don't recall hearing anything bottom out, maybe the shocks were?

That new bump looks so incredibly out of place among the rot, it immediately triggered "that's a poor photoshop attempt" response in my brain.

We are going to be over 100 in the next few days, but I am SO glad I live in the desert south west (Phoenix). Most all of the bottom of my '02 still looks almost dealer fresh.
