Zimmers 64 C10

Here, we walk in with a bill of sale. Anything over 25 years old does not need a title to get one in your name. No inspections of any kind. They do run the VIN through state and national data for theft records.

I would love to find a 64 shorted stepside.

Pawpaw had one, we had the most fun in it.

One day, $$ willing.

You didn’t have one before Dave?
Yes, it was last titled in the 80’s, and had a name on the title that was deceased. The next owner of the truck never transferred ownership, and had passed also and his widow was who I bought it from through @eodcoduto here on CK5. He provided a lot of paperwork showing ownership, but Michigan has quite a runaround to transfer an out of state title, with two deceased owners, and the secretary of state (licensing bureau) only takes appointments now, and they are about 3 months out. I’m sure there is a kickback from the insurance industry to require to have title insurance on a 57 yr old truck w 40 yrs of unused timeframe.

Understandingly, the Sheriff deputy ran the vin, even questioning the riveted on tag, she was young lol, I would have gladly threw a Benjamin at them to push this all through!

Sitting outside for the winter, still lazily looking for a carb just to see if it’ll run and drive.
Its sitting outside flipping off old man winter for a few months.

Looks like the same carb as my 57 Pontiac except for the choke situation.

My grandson and I put some different skins on it today. I think the old ones were oem…lol
the oem rims were rust/bonded to the drums/hubs. A week of penetrating oil and a dozen whacks with a demolition mall broke em loose. Was a bit concerned about those split rings flying off and decapitating me, so I cut the valve stems off to let all the air out before I started, and swung from the side.
then towed it to the side of the shop for the winter. Might throw a tarp over it….:thinking:

Did one at this cool dudes house like 12-13 years ago...
It was awesome :D

Seriously though, I'm down to come out for a wrenching weekend sometime if you decide to jump on one of these and need a hand.
Chrissie would be jumping at the chance to help too. :waytogo:

Food for thought on the back burner.
