Same here! my dad had a few of them when I was a kid. All short box trucks. Always loved the 64/66 body style the best.I would love to find a 64 shorted stepside.
Pawpaw had one, we had the most fun in it.
One day, $$ willing.
Yes, it was last titled in the 80’s, and had a name on the title that was deceased. The next owner of the truck never transferred ownership, and had passed also and his widow was who I bought it from through @eodcoduto here on CK5. He provided a lot of paperwork showing ownership, but Michigan has quite a runaround to transfer an out of state title, with two deceased owners, and the secretary of state (licensing bureau) only takes appointments now, and they are about 3 months out. I’m sure there is a kickback from the insurance industry to require to have title insurance on a 57 yr old truck w 40 yrs of unused timeframe. You didn’t have one before Dave?
Understandingly, the Sheriff deputy ran the vin, even questioning the riveted on tag, she was young lol, I would have gladly threw a Benjamin at them to push this all through! Here, we walk in with a bill of sale. Anything over 25 years old does not need a title to get one in your name. No inspections of any kind. They do run the VIN through state and national data for theft records.
