‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

Looks like a good spot. Why go to the trouble to walk your dog when you can just drive him around instead. [emoji106]

After a quick tape measure alignment I took the boss man out for a test run.

He was happy.

I found this little wash in my neighborhood and it's wide open, no fence or any signs saying keep out.
I guess this could qualify as 'Urban Curbin'

My right foot is getting antsy looking at the background of this pic.....

I know man! I checked it out in the Tundra and got stuck, I had to put it in 4wd to get out. I hate mud.
Well, it's not really mud it's a sandy riverbed.

I don't want to track sandy mud all throughout the neighborhood so I opted out.
We've had thunderstorms every day here for a while.
When it dries up I'm going to explore down it.

I couldn't wait any longer with the floods and all.

I had to do a little shake down.

A quick video of what it's like to wheel in suburban Dallas, TX.

I think your custom camo paint job blends in better with your new digs than it did in the desert somehow.

Dude!!!

You went all Ace Ventura in that video! Most excellent!!

And on a side note. Your rig is so freekin cool. Keep at it man. Need some more wheelin pics!

Agreed, your truck is one of my favorites on here Paul.

Thanks for the big props gents. :D

I think I'll go check out one of the local OHV parks before I do anymore work.

I get a little sad when JIMMY's down for long term projects.

I know the feeling Paul. I hate it when I have to take my old truck out of action for any extended period. It's always on my mind (cue Willie Nelson). Ironically, when it's drivable, all I do is notice every little thing that's wrong with it and cuss it the whole time for being old and worn out. :haha:

I couldn't stand the high chair for a passenger seat anymore so I decided it was time to do something about it.

The first thing I did was to equip my work cart with AC. It's been hot lately. Like 106 hot.

I needed to drop the front left mounting point down about 2" for the metal box on the floor where I clocked the tcase.

I chopped and installed the cap back on the rail.

The boss lady said the the power sliders Need to be able to function.

The foot was a out 1.5" and the notch in the rail gave it another .5". I had to shave a little clip inside the rail too.

I repurposed a piece of metal I had laying around to make a tab that mounts back in the same hole.

Here's an image that shows the front left leg sitting a few inches higher than before.
The track slides good.

While waiting for paint to dry I thought About making and ammo can center consul.

I marked out a little wedge to angle the bottom to match the floor.

I just folded the bottom to the new shape and tacked it in place.

Here's the new look. It sits at a pretty good height now.

I burned it in pretty quick.

After spraying some Ryoken Green on it I called it a day.
Now I'm thinking I need some cup holders.

I've mounted some cup holders I got at AutoZone or some other parts place on the front of the ammo box.

We'll see how it works out. The boss man likes to ride in the center sometimes. We'll see what he thinks about it.

Wouldn't you have to mount the rear of the AC unit out of the building to be effective???
