‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

Yep, No smog check. What sucks about it is:
1- the wiring is way scary, I have had shorts that left me stranded in the desert,
2- the gauges don't work right eg: the oil pressure gauge for the diesel was 80 psi, the gas engine was 60 psi. I think the sensor is located under the dizzy & it makes it difficult to change. I tried both types of sensors & both gauges, none work; the gauge maxes out. I think there is a short in the back of the bezel .
3- There is no tach.
4- temp gauge don't work. I got a rad cap w/ a thermostat on it.

When I get more loot I will re-wire it all & add new gauges; but in the meantime I am more worried about changing my diff gears & adding a locker before TDS 2011.

nice rig did you use some type of pattern for the camo paint or did you just do it random.

Thanks,
The camo is freestyle, totally random, no pattern, no tape, and it is evolving as I get battle scars.
IMG_6243.jpg we (sort of) put a CK on this side. The PO's handle was CK4.

62.jpg On this side we put a penguin on the rear taillight. There is a seahorse on the top too.

What brand is your suspension lift?

It is a 4 wheel parts "Genuine" suspension."Genuine" being mix & match parts for a lower price.
It has Procomp ES1000 shocks & 47.5" Front & 52" rear springs for 2 1/2" lift. No blocks.

Shock mount fix

JIMMY 065.jpg This shows the basic idea

JIMMY 071.jpg tacked in place, a dry fit.

JIMMY 066.jpg There comes a time in every mans life when he stops grinding on his welds.

JIMMY 068.jpg The shock is back to its original location.

JIMMY 069.jpg The bushing is flat & square.

I used to have their 2 1/2 inch lift with blocks in the rear before I upgraded to the 6 inch lift from them. I'm actually thinking about downsizing back to it.
