Turns out you were right on the money. Once I cut them down a bit the alignment went off without a hitch.some of the gm ifs lifts require inner tie rod trim down to let the outer come in more for full alignment .

Yup, and disconnecting it for 15 min did the trick. Thank God! I was sweating it that I really screwed something up. It appears everything is back on track for now.Charge the battery
Turns out my master window controller is bad. The dealer wants $250 for the part, plus another $200 or so to install it and "program" it. ??
I've looked all over and I can't find any reference to anyone having to program the door switch. I can find the switch online for $150 or so, and probably a lot cheaper from a junk yard, but what is this programming they are talking about? Anybody heard of that?
bummer. It's probably a module then.If it's just a switch then no reprogramming should be required, if it is a module then yes.
I don't think that's correct. It's a drivers door module and should have to be programmed to the vin to work. I supposed you could get lucky. I've installed them before though, and they wouldn't do anything until programmed.
I finally found one at a junkyard and it did have the same mirrors as my truck. It was plug and play and works like a charm. Total cost $42. A long way from the $450 the dealer wanted.
No interesting pics, but finally got the door module taken care of.
At least from my sample size of 1, I appear to be correct.I finally found one at a junkyard and it did have the same mirrors as my truck. It was plug and play and works like a charm. Total cost $42. A long way from the $450 the dealer wanted.

It wasn't driven at all, just pulled out of the shop and parked.
