Man that blows. Hopefully the life change is a good one!
I have a bare housing with two good hubs sitting on my garage floor. It's not looking like I will put it to use anytime soon. But it would be cheaper to buy a complete axle locally than ship a housing.
That sucks man. And now I have one more thing to worry about spontaneously failing!
over 15 years turning a wrench for a living I have only seen 3 in person and this picture .

I need a 3/4 ton 14FF, 4.10's, with a gov lock preferably.
And, would like one with the newer backing plates to keep my ebrake as is. Although, i'm sure i could swap backing plates off my dead one.

Why do you need 4.10 w/ gov-lock? Can't you simply grab the gears from your existing housing? As said before, it's really easy to set up 14bff gears. And that way you don't have to care what you find...![]()

Put a deposit down on a good takeout axle at Pacific Fab.
Picking it up monday.
Ubolts are already here. Hoping to have it back up and running the next day.
Now, to convince an AAA tow truck driver to help me move it into the driveway with only 3 wheels.
