No progress in the last 3 weeks. Lifes getting in the way. Started a new job. Having to cut wood to heat my house and I'll be out of town the next 3 weekends. After that ill get back at it.

I guess the one update i have is only unforming you that the order for the beams are at laser cut but they are backed up so idk how much longer those will be.

Not sure how I missed this build. Nice work.

The back bone truss is developed from decades of desert racing high horse power and and big tires. Going through woops and having the tires hit at a higher rpm than the truck is moving, was bending the axles forward. Nuts, I know! Saw the aftermath a couple of times.

That truss is overkill for what this truck will do.

It looks like Neal's shop is way busy too
Yah he is suoer swamped but shouldnt be but another month. I would hope Hes known about my build for a long time and ive already put money down. Pretty much waiting on the steel to get cut at laser then its on!

Now that I read this I have heard or read this somewhere. It makes sense when you think about the momentum and which direction the force is applied

These are NOT MY beams as mine are still at laser waiting to be cut, but these are a picture of the exact beams my truck is getting. I can't wait to get these under the truck.

I did get some work done tonight. Lots of welding. Got most of the back half welded up. Good enough to check out droop and bump with the back half and the glass fenders.

RIDE HEIGHT

BUMP (although this is an unrealistic bump as more then likely the beams won't be able to clear the motor this low)

DROOP

That thing has so much character! The spotlight cab lights and patina are perfect! The pics remind me of when I was a glue sniffin kid sitting in my room building my dream rides. Can't wait to see this thing up n runnin!

That is part of the reason they push the engine back.
The engine is pushed back 3 1/2"s. In the droop pics the frame below the cab is only about 6"s off the ground. That low and it will just plow sand on landings and steep transitions. It will get set up more around the 8"-10" range.

I ran into this with mine, combination of taller mounts and sacrificing a bit more lift was the ticket. I pulled of a lift on 35's with 14 inches of travel that ride height is in the center of the shaft that will fit into a standard height garage.

You keeping stock front crossmember?? This is why you put bends in the beams.. Or lower the beam pivots or narrow the pivot locations.. I think that bump pic is very close..
