Those brackets aren't cheap when shipping is factored in, and how necessary are they?

Bro.... I want the clutter gone. More clutter, more chances for scorpions, especially in the garage and outside with all my other "parts I'll need someday"

If I have new stuff on the 69' there is no point for some of this stuff.

I found a set of plastic trim tools, they sort of look like chisels with a long sharp taper. some wide, some narrow and some odd round ones. The top horizontal felts have those clips. If you can get something in there to help the clip out, and work your way from one end to the other it should go decent. Thats what ive always done but ive never actually checked if theres a "proper" way to do it.

Local guy has the dryer bracket. I guess you need 2 of them. I've only seen pictures with one. But whatever I'll get 2

Is there something the runs horizontally on these hoods to make a little less wompy?
Seems it should be more solid...

Edit: every picture I've seen this is it. They just seem wobbly while driving and bend easily when pressed down on.

There are pad strips that go between the skin and the braces.
The trick is getting them glued in somehow. They can slide out once they get compressed after a few years.

Driver side has one but it's worn out... passenger doesn't..

This is what I've noticed. It's loud and when you pop the hood it's like you dropped a huge piece of sheet metal. Any pressure on the hood, even just wiping down with meguires or something the metal presses in..

I'll try the urethane kits they have online, I do have some old flip flops I could zip tie in there in the meantime.

It was hard enough lining this hood up, I'm not to keen on taking it off just yet.

Lmc has a steel one that I'm sure I could paint black for $29. The stainless is double the price

I put the stainless one in my '70 K10 and the black version in my '72 C10. Both are from LMC. I believe that the black one is powder coated, not positive but it has no sign of rust yet.
