1969 C10

Slow process of putting it back together.
I knew what you meant, I just like to inject a little levity.

If you can figure out a way to keep the e-brake, I would sure try. I hate not having one in my crew cab and I'm frequently very glad I do have one in the C10.

Hahaha. I wasn’t sure, sarcasm at times get lost online.

well, the cable itself is all torn up. I will have to replace it, it’s frayed all over. I’ll just keep some wheels chalks with me

I would use chocks.. chalk would be better to make new lines in the parking lot.

Or to play hopscotch.

Tie them up out of the way until you make up your mind. You can remove that stuff later if you decide not to use it?

Trimmed the carrier bearing to convert to a one piece drive shaft. Drive shaft was made here locally in Arizona by https://azdriveshaft.com/
Same place that did my Blazer drive shafts. I read a hundred different threads on 1 or 2 piece and decided to go with one.
It’s in and I’m sticking with it.

Some front end stuff was installed today. I cannot the nut off the back to use the ICT PS bracket so I cleaned and painted the old one.

next I’m going to remove the monstrosity of the ac/heater stuff. I cannot stand the bulkyness of it.

with that said how many belts do I need? 2 or 3 and what size?

Have no idea. Had to buy four for my stock 1985. One now with serpentine.

Yeah I think I can already see some shimming may be needed, then I’ll start a thread on how to shim pulleys.

Too be honest, I took two weeks, along with waiting for parts to come in. All the ones I ordered have been installed. So, that has delayed update posts as well.

i did just get in the kickdown and throttle cables all with their brackets along with new gas pedal.

grille, fender (inner and outer) also cowel bolts just came in. I have to figure out what bolts go where. As usual with this aftermarket stuff. Nothing is labeled nor instructions on how. Battery tray just arrived.

i also need to get new headlights.
Oil dipstick
Wires need installing
Tranny cooler lines
Radiator +electric fans and hoses
Gauges( not sure if I’m keeping the original or going to Dakota digital). I’m not sure how to test if the old ones even work.
Transmission shift linkage.
Fluids..

then wiring the truck, plus rear light set up of harness install. Plus a few more items.

it’s already hotter than hell in AZ. Next week we get 115,117 so motivation to get in the garage will be hard to muster.

needed to get stuff done on K5 that I can’t do so $$ had to be set aside for that..

there is my June update.

in the meantime, a smoke and some Sabbath..
