1971 K10 Custom/10 Tons\LSX

Got the 14 housing all shaved down, ordered new perches and some shock tabs from DiY4x

Got it mocked up and set under the truck. What's the best way to determine what pinion angle needs to be??

*also fixed the centerblock situation

Get it sitting on all 4 tires to figure out what angle the driveshaft needs to be. Just snug up the U bolts and don't weld the perches til your sure.

Nice. Didn't think about it that way. Thanks. That's what I'll do

Rear is hanging in place with zero rates installed to correct the shackle flip. Set them at 1.5" back. Want to get the wheels and tires on and see if that was to much.

Before with shackle flip. My rear wheels were definitely to far forwards

Surprised there isn't more traffic in this thread

Progress looking good.

Did you sort out the U joint?

No I haven't yet I need to pull the old one and measure it

Looks good did moving the rear 1.5 inches center it in the wheel well? I am installing the same setup in my 72. All DIY4x parts with an easy inch but I am thinking of adding a leaf to the rear of mine to stiffen it up a bit.

Haven't hung a wheel on it yet. Should have my tires this week. Our friend Paul has them in storage

I think an 1.5" might be to far. It's all just mocked up so won't be hard to move them

Hell yeah! Factory hubcaps and wheels are my favorite. If I can ever find any k-20 caps i will be doing the same.
I have 2 rears that are in ok condition. If I can find 2 nice blue center ones. I'll cut the 2 I have for the 60 hub

Well front drive shaft hits the y pipe pretty severely, which it did before also.
Good thing I have a set of longtubes for it.
Also needs a new radiator
Also needs hydraulic bell housing
A few gaskets to fix oil leaks

So the motor is coming out......

You know if you paint your cinder blocks safety orange they are OSHA approved right? Ha! Looks like you're making good headway.
