1971 K5 Blazer (paint, hardtop, and .....)

Sorry, still groggy from the long weekend! It's the front seats, the part of the floor with the mounts on it. Such good news that it's a match!

Should I just use a sawzall to cut the sheet metal out?

Have you checked my build thread recently? I just built that EXACT panel in the last few days... The only really tricky part is getting the flange bent across the top where all those carriage bolts go into it from the rear bedfloor.

The hardest part will be getting the vertical panel separated from the B-pillar and outer rocker sheetmetal cleanly. It's pretty well integrated with those parts so the challenge will be how to remove it without making a huge mess of the other parts. It might also be challenging to get the new panel into that location from underneath with the frame and bodymounts in the way.

I'll take a look through your build tonight, thanks for the help. Sounds like this will be an interesting repair for me!

The drivers side is the same. The passenger side is not. Where the seats bolt up Is different on the rear half of the floor with the passenger tilt seats on the blazers.

Damn, hadn't considered that. Of course the passenger side is the worst.

how bad is the rust is the question. If it's through the floorboards it is probably through the floor supports and lower b pillar as well. Gmc Paul's has the lower b pillar posts but I'm not sure on the floor pieces you need.

Still working away on the beast. I'm finally starting work on the body, got it running strong and I've been enjoying it.

The truck bumper is cut off, but the PO did such a 'custom' job I can't see the original bumper bracket mounts. Can anyone help me with a measurement from the outside edge of the frame horn (I can still see it) to the inside edge of the bumper bracket?

I don't see how to attach pictures anymore?

Nice truck, good starting point, but if it were mine, I would change out the screw drive clamps on the plastic fuel filter. They squeeze way more then required and and may cause a fuel leak on a hot area of your engine. They make a spring clamp that is better suited for this application
