1972 Cheyenne Super K20- -LQ4/NV4500

It’s crazy we have so much water but you guys are on restrictions.

Obviously it’s to save the drinkable water but it still seems ridiculous.

Sounds ridiculous, as far as I know water station lost power due to flooding which put us a day behind on clean/ready drinking water. We are caught up now and truck is clean again!

Couple guys are trying to convince me this truck is show worthy. I time to clean up some messes from the previous owner. I never did any of this because I plan to pull the motor soon and replace with 6.0/Nv4500 combo.

Re-wired all power and grounds in engine bay to clean them up. 1C2BC940-8375-4679-85F1-8388E7871072.jpeg

Sandblasted the crappy paint off the valve covers.
Cleaning up the heads and valley cover. Re routed and blocked off an useless steam line that was rigged into radiator. Also ordered a not so cheap and ugly looking air filter assembly 4050E5D7-046D-442F-A5E0-B1B39DAAFF3A.png
Will clean up the firewall also

Should have it back together tomorrow, and more show worthy for a local show next week.

Looks good!
Makes me think that I need to do some cleaning myself!

Sorry to ask if you have already said somewhere, but does it have the A/C compressor mounted down low?

For reference. These are the before pictures :doah:

No there is no compressor. One thing I’ll need to to eventually

Ah, I just saw what looked to be new hoses heading downward. It will be nice for you when you get it working!
Have you gotten one of these old systems running before? I haven't yet. I put an evaporator for a square truck in my '70. That gave me an orifice tube system which worked good until the evaporator sprung a leak.
:doah:
I just am wondering if there are problems getting the POA valve system working, so I will still be watching!
