Never let anyone tell you you can't, or shouldn't.
I bought this 8.1 as a basket case from a very nice gentleman from the Syndicate(SLC arm of CK5) it was great deal, no complaints.
It came basically as a long block with no accessories.
Now that I'm an elderly POS, I demand functioning AC. AC bracket for said engine just plain are not available. I scrounge together what I could get. LH power steering/alternator bracket. The only AC bracket available was one from Kodiak truck. So I bought it, hoping it was the unicorn RH bracket. It wasnt.
I bit the bullet, and chopped it up, saving only the AC part of it.
Welded metal to it to give it 4 bolt down places.
All was well until I had to figure out the belt tensioner.
I ordered a new tensioner and proceeded to weld a mount for it, welding it to the bracket that I cut up and welded back together. All is well. It looks like it'll work, all lined up and straight. Tha aftermarket bracket guy wanted $800 for the complete assembly. It was cool, but, cash in my pocket is even cooler. Back to my regularly scheduled mayhem.
