I'm not old enough to kick the bucket that soon... give it 50 years. Then again, 30 years from now it may be me dropping the tanks wondering how that got there.30 years from now some future owner will be dropping the tanks and wonder what in the world those are doing on there. Haha.
That was the idea.gives new meaning to the words:
...
"Fish Tank"
Kudos to your wife !!
Nice score! I very much want one of those for my 73. To clarify, are the brackets you used from the K5 or where they already on your pickup? I wasn't sure if K5 brackets would cross over to a pickup. Or suburban either for that matter.I followed that up with installing the rear sport bumper pulled from a K5 with factory truck brackets I found in the wrecking yard a couple months ago.
I picked up some 5/16 barb to 1/4 NPT Male and 1/4 NPT female to 3/8 barb brass fittings at the hardware store. That should make it possible to hook up the transfer valve if I cannot find another solution. It looks like AC Delco sells a conversion to the 80s style valve as well but that requires more wiring. I'm still debating which direction I want to go.
The brackets are from a pickup. I ordered a new set with hardware from ebay for $115 then found a factory set a month later. If you want to buy the new, aftermarket brackets, I'd sell them for $100. They have never been installed.Nice score! I very much want one of those for my 73. To clarify, are the brackets you used from the K5 or where they already on your pickup?
