1977 Silverado Crew Cab.

No luck :( he had three of them but wasn't willing to part with any of them. Oh well. Might just have to settle for a 44 for now.
 
Yes! The 60 is needed! Good power, heavy truck, etc = 60 required in the long run! The 44 would work as a place holder.
 
Don't need a boosted launch to break a 44 under these things. I have broken a few 44s and 10 bolts in trucks with less power, less weight, and 33s. Not to mention with the 60 you get better brakes and bigger bearings which will be nice for if I ever get a camper for it like I plan on.
 
Likely. But it's hella ghey to worry about it. But I do want this to end up ad a bit if a heavy duty truck and will likely (hopefully) but a good amount of miles on it with heavy ish loads. The 60 with its bigger brakes and bearings would be nice for that. And let's not forget the other part of the equation... I have never had one and always wanted one! I'll just do a 44 for now but it's stay will be as short as possible.
 
A 3/4 ton front axle will likely outlast the truck if I understand your intended use...

I'd disagree, hauling a camper while towing will exceed the load rating of the 3/4 ton front alone and cause excessive wear. It will last for a period of time, likely a few years. But it will not outlast the truck.

This is news to me. I see 1/2-ton and 3/4-ton trucks with campers & trailers all the time. :dunno:

How many of those were carrying around the extra 1000 lbs of the crewcab loaded to 10-15K combined?

I said it will last a while but will wear out parts prematurely. Ball joints, brakes, tie rod ends, etc that are not rated for the weight. The D60 will simply last longer than a D44 with the same loads.
 
So the driver rear door needs replaced but the passenger rear is perfect. I got that pair of rear doors off a 91 burb so I just wanted to take the factory tinted glass from the burb door and put it in the passenger side. So I did that today after work and luckily, it worked perfectly! The rear doors are exactly the same and since the old glass is thicker than the new glass (clear for clear) but these are tinted, they are the same thickness so no mix and matching of window seals and felts will be required! Very happy with how it turned out/worked out.







 
I'll need to find a roll of tint that matches close for the rear slider. I'll leave the fronts untinted.
