...Square shaft update?
still looks like 2 pieces of square tube and one driveshaft waiting to be scavenged. lol gonna try and get some time for it tonight.
...Square shaft update?
$100. i'll do a little grinder work on the CV end of the shaft to square it up at home as the majority of it fits with no issues.Sweet! What did they charge for the machine work?
Ill try to grab some pictures later. Shaft is all put together and happy.
Went to put in it and ... ****!
The new derale trans pan I just put on has the temp sender right where the driveshaft lives. First time it turns its gonna rip it out. And since the pan is full I don't wanna pull the temp sender out.
So I'm going to have to drain trans again, take out temp sender and plug the port. ****beans. On the other hand it looks like the shaft is exactly the length needed. Ill have 7" of extension and 7" of compression from static height.

that's why I got a pan with them installed bcuz the last pan where I added one of those plug kits leaked. well wouldn't you know it. LOL should've just kept the factory and added in another leaker and kept the damn money!I did the exact same thing on my tranny pan. Put the sender on the passenger side without even thinking. So now I have a passenger side drain plug, and driverside sending unit, and they both leak.![]()

Shaft looks good.
You are saying the weld seam on the tube is whats making it a snug fit?
I have a feeling that's gonna wear pretty quick, plus its only on one side of the tube so its going to offset just that little much
Only way to know is to try it though. Unless your going really fast, I bet it will be fine.
No. I'm saying I added more weld to the four outside corners of the inside tube. Same idea tho
Yup.

Gotchya. Idk if its enough to offset it to bother or not.
Could always grind a little v on the outside of the inner if it was.
Waiting for trail report![]()
Should work good for ya!
