1981 K20

6" lift. 3/4 ton axles.
I went the cell in the bed route. I don't hate it. But I also don't use mine for hauling or gear.

I've always wanted to do a transfer tank under/in front of the tool box in the bed.

Martin

I thought about/looked in to one of the transfer tank/tool box combos awhile back. But they are stupid expensive.

You live in the corn belt. I have seen them farm auctions before...

Haven't done a whole lot on the truck this weekend. It I did get the bench pulled out and got all of the mud washed out of the interior.
Added a saddle blanket cover to the vinyl to keep my biscuits from burning on hot days.

Also fixed the rca cables going to my amp. One of the ends had broken and they had both lost their tight grip of the port. Fixed that.
On the hunt for seats now. @GWeakland620 how does the pricing work on seats at LKQ? looking for a Manual set of 40/20/40 front seats from a early 2000s chevy with the seat belts built in.

They're not too bad, price wise. The issue is condition. Those trucks are getting old, and our yard guys throw smaller extra parts in the front seats. It took me a while to find a new seat for my 2000 I just bought. Usually the whole seat combo goes for $200ish.

Pulled the heads off the gen VI 7.4 that came with the truck tonight. Before I did that I drained the oil.
And before the oil started to hoop out I got bout 6 quarts of water. Not a great start.

All of the cylinder walls underneath where the pistons were at look great. But the big rusty spots on top tell me they need to be addressed. My hope will be to just clean it up with a dingle ball and put it back together. The whole goal was a cheap simple BBC swap. I don't really feel like doing a full machine job / rebuild on this thing.

Not been doing too much besides working as of late. This is my busiest time of year.
But I did get a few new parts in. Ordered a 25 gallon k5 tank for an 87 so it's baffled, came with a new sender and pump, of which I also ordered a Ep381 pump which should supply enough psi to run the fitech. Got a set of the speaker brackets based on @Chevy305 using them.

So been spending a little time here and there the past few days. Fixed the heater control, the tabs holding it to the dash were broken so the levers had fallen in the dash. Got that remedied, also ripped out the old head unit and swapped in a Bluetooth receiver that goes to the amp. Really digging this little thing. Connects quick and sounds great.

Also been fighting getting the old bumper and hitch off. Needed to get them out of the both because they're huge and ugly but it also sits where I need to mount the new fuel tank.

So with that done I need to get the rear crossmember cut out and the bed floor crossmember cut out but might drive to work and use the plasma for that.
Also going to try to use the hitch pieces to make anew crossmember/rear bumper

I like that Bluetooth deal. I have the same idea of running an amp to some weather proof rollbar mounted speakers. Get some tunes back in the truck.

Not doing a whole lot but got the old hitch and bumper off. Cut the hitch a part and used bitch and pieces to make it a new bumper/crossmember.
All of that ties into getting k5 tank installed. ehich is my current goal.
