1981 K20

6" lift. 3/4 ton axles.
You should update your overview with some specs. I can't remember what all has been done.

Strange place to keep the spare.

Guess it's better than the man bun look the XJ crowd uses

Not super uncommon. I was told it's the farmer mount, but it makes sense to me to keep it up off the bed floor. Although that's exactly where it's gonna end up as I'm putting a fuel cell where it used to live.

Try it now. I think I updated it correctly. Can't figure out how to change the cover picture from my phone tho.

Anyway. Put new plugs in it this morning and spent some time trying to clean things up. Going to do an oil change tomoro and just keep cleaning things up and getting it back to livable.

Efi tank options.

Truck came with a blazer/burb tank that is in unknown shape. May end up buying a new tank.
Also thinking about buying a fuel cell and putting in the bed next to the tool box.

Biggest issue/driving factor is I want to get the efi in and I need the 58psi pump to happen.

Any thoughts pros/cons?
I have concerns running a blazer tank as I definitly want to take some of the overhang out of the bed and don't want to not be able to because of the tank. Also worried about smashing it coming off a ledge.

On the other hand I also don't really want to have a tank in the bed if I can help it. If I end up with a k5 tank under the bed it'll get some kind of substantial skid. Let me know your thoughts.

I put a cell in the bed on my last build. Hated it

Put it underneath and skid it. Armor plate the bumper and you'll have no worries

@Smokinthehippies not sure if you read any of the discussion in my thread but I looked at few different options and ended up putting a k5 tank under the bed. Originally I was going to recess the tank in the bed and build a raised bed floor to increase the rear ground clearance. I eventually decided that a functional bed is more important and well built skid should protect the 31 gallon tank just fine.

Let me know if you want to see any pics

Had a cell in the bed. Total bitch to fill.
I'll never do that again.

If you have any pictures handy or have the spot in your thread where I can start reading I will.

Yeah I had one in the last k5 I built. But without a tailgate and it behind the backseat it was easy to fill.

My original idea was something like this with a raised bed floor

Correct I do not. I actually don't even mind the saddle tanks. I just want to be able to have decent sliders and the saddles get in the way
