Stupid little update

The last spark plug wires I had were precut and way too long and ended up wrapped over themselves and hanging over the exhaust. So I made up some 8.5 MSD's and popped on some cheap wire holders. Little thing but killed some time and looks mucho better (plus I don't have to worry about the wires cooking thru on the manifolds and arcing out)

Nother quick question.
The stupid air pump injection ports on the manifolds, any reason I couldn't pull those out and plug the holes? Not worrying about smog.

Anyone know what thread size they are?

I took the stock line and cut it off, welded the end up and ground it smooth. Free plug.

I did this once, and went junk yard hunting for an extra set.....reason why? I busted some fittings once. Since you want to keep "just in case'', you can cut the tubes off right at the threaded fitting, and weld it shut to act like a plug just like avery4jc said. Just thought I would throw that out there! I love where your going with this rig. I haven't been around for a while, so I am catching up! Why the change to blue? Just curious....

That's probably how ill end up doing it when I decide to is just grab a spare set to weld up and keep mine un****ered.

As far as the blue, well the red paint was a cheap ass maaco that flaked really bad. And the wife never liked red. She said it was either blue or purple. So we agreed on blue. She picked the metallic and the glitter clear coat. The pictures don't do justice it is a shiny somebitch.

Also, since its not red it can't be Clifford the big red dog. So now it's gonna be the Cookie Monster.

Took the burb to pismo today. Decided to take the dogs out to go wheeling and also take them to the ocean for the first time. Pretty fun day.
Got 15mpg highway on the way down. Pretty happy with that. Too bad city mpg is 9-10

Btw those duratracs do friggin great in the sand, can only assume they so equally well in the snow.
I was at 40psi, with a heavy burb in some soft silty sand, and still only needed 4wd a few times. Left quite a few ruts that were pretty deep cuz they just dig. If I wasn't so lazy and aired down to bout 15-20, probably could've gotten away with no 4wd all day. Oh well fun Saturday either way

cookie monster....got my attn Steve!!!!

I love my duratracs as well....they do most awesomer in the snow too!

Small wheeling trip today since yesterday was my bday.

Everything went really good and the square shaft up front was working great, a little noisy and clanky but plenty of forward traction.

Climbed up a rock pile and shut the truck off to take some pictures. Went to start it back up and nothing.
Starter is doing nothing off the key. Thought maybe the starter crapped out, had my wife run me down my new starter and slapped it in. No change.
So something is wonked out. Anyway, ended the day on a flatbed from AAA. Damn and blast.

What do I need to track down to figure this out.
Initial guess are the ignition switch or park neutral switch. But I'm not even sure where those are located.

Anyway, for the time it worked, everything worked really well. Truck was running great and flexed just what i wanted.

Never updated this thread about the problem.

So with the help of another thread. I found the problem with the no start to be the park neutral switch. Went a head and bypassed it and now the cookie starts and runs no muss no fuss. I finally installed the dual battery setup I've had for a while, even tho the battery has been in the truck for a few months.

It's just an isolater that when the primary battery reaches 13.4, connects the second battery allowing them both to charge.

Now I believe, that in order for it to work the way I want, I'd need to run a cable from the second battery, down to the starter, does that sound correct to anyone else? Or would that cause a problem with jumping the isolater?

Any thoughts appreciated.
