1981 K20

6" lift. 3/4 ton axles.
Ouch! Finger damage like that hurts like a mofo. More than anything I try to protect my digits with mechanicing full time and all my home shit and farming. I see too many others with big fat ugly ass fingers from smashing them their whole careers.
Iirc that was from the goose bite

Not really.

I used that story as much as possible because it sounds better than the truth. which is I fell into a folding chair and when I landed on it, the hinge cleaved my finger.

I still have about half the guys I work with convinced gooses are evil (they are) and the other half know it was a chair that whooped me.

I’ve been really wanting to build a 2wd truck for around here. There’s a different car show here at least every weekend or more during the summer. Vs the only off-road spot is a few hours from here and most of the local guys don’t go very frequently.
I thought about lowering it down, but most shows require 79 or older.
plusI really want to do a truck on air bags. One day I’d like to cruise out to hot August nights and lone star throw down.

Not sure to like or dislike that.
I understand it. I was going strong on the rebirth of my 79 before I moved back to the Midwest. The idea of not having the public lands to explore. Really puts a damper on things.
That said I already have my street toys. So I say to just buy a 2wd and do both!

Yeah but I don’t want to leave my big truck in a storage unit just to pull it out once or twice a year. And I have too much money into it to let it rot. It needs someone to enjoy it. but maybe I’ll get it running again and enjoy it myself who knows.

You will need a tow rig to pull the 2wd to long distance shows.
Sorry but a 6.7 isn't cool
for those purposes. Lower this truck some or run a smaller tire to make it more muti dimensional. Use it a hunting camping rig and pull the 2wd.

Well if things shape up that way the 6.7 mega would be leaving too. Already got my Hayabusa up on the sale block.

It's all part of the process of figuring out what you really want/need.
Seems to be those things change naturally as time goes on, wife, kids, where you live, etc. Are all factors.
Fwiw, I'm planning on bagging my 76.
Not wanting a squarebody syndicate style truck or anything but something low. Should be a good compliment for the impending big block.

Yeah my goals would require nothing as far notching floor, or frame rail for drop. Just enough to be able to cruise comfortably, look good and be comfy. Plus I’ve just always wanted to do a bagged truck.

Oh yeah I remember you spilled the beans after a few posts.
The first story stuck in my head.
I am getting old, forgive me :pimp:

Small update.
Wiring work is done.
Working on fire up now. Not getting power to the fuel pump. But man that mini starter spins over like the dickens.

Does the FiTech run a relay triggered by the controller, or direct wired to the pump?
Fitech runs to trigger a relay. so after metering a bunch of spots. The fitech is getting power, but not triggering. So still trying to figure it out. Guessing the key switch 12v to the fitech is being a bitch.

Well, at least you know how to use a meter, you have a fighting chance

@wetoolowdingbangow had something similar happen after it sat for awhile. He had to reload the program for it to work right. Just food for thought

I’m assuming mine has something to do with the 12v switched wire no longer being connected to the efi lol.
I’m at this moment glad I decided to do multiple small looms. Made pulling the harness part to find this issue, much easier.
