So they're at 150 now and the threads still aren't even up to the top of the nuts? :eek1: I would go longer then. They will loosen up some during the first couple hundred miles. I guarantee. All new u-bolts do.

Me? Never! This is the second rebuild on this truck! It's a on going family joke.

New u bolts is a must I would rather spend the money and have the piece of mind.

I was not referring to you, but for a name for the truck.

I would go ahead and get proper U-bolts too. Cheap insurance.

It is a 4 inch lift, I stood on the frame rails and jumped up and down. They should preform excellent.

When I got my links, coil overs and bypasses done, I used a tractor to push down on the front frame horns. Then backed the tractor off of it. Then lifted it the same way. Pretty anti climatic with the shocks tuned too stiff.

But at last I wasn't jumping on it.

I would run the U bolts like that. I'm far from an expert by any means though.

And when I tighten U bolts down, I try to alternate between them so they stretch more equally, so there isnt one side way shorter than the other. Not that it really matter that much though.

I achieved the 150ft lbs in a 4 step process starting at 25,50,100 then the final 150. I started in the top left, bottom right, top right then bottom left. I have no idea why they are not even.

It's always a good idea to watch them and keep the treads pretty even as you tighten them. You are pulling each side against the other, so when one gets longer you need to pull tighten the other side more to catch it up.

Yes I understand and will do that when I get new u bolts.

Took a couple pictures today for no reason other then I'm liking the new stance.

I did jump up onto the bench seat and pretended like I was driving, it felt pretty good.

I made my best sound effects of shifting the transfer case and what I envision a 6L wide open.
