I pretty much grabbed the welder and started messing with it to see what I could do. I think I do have one of those hammers some place, at least I used to.
I hope it's not in the garage.
Watch some videos. Plenty of them out there. I will look a few up.
im no stick welding expert but ive done it a bunch and basically you wanna drag the stick at an angle pointing away from the direction you are going (for the most part, vertical and other situations call for you to do different things) and move with the puddle.
Not trying to hijack a thread but I need to ask. If I am pulling the weld towards me the electrode should be pointing away from me? Maybe that's why my welds aren't continuos, I always get a good bead then a gap full of slag

The tabs for the axles are going the wrong way. They need to parallel the axle. Bolt should be perpendicular. Front to back. If not the shock will bind when articulated.

Both the shock mount bolrs should run front to back in this case.

And they should both run front to back.
