I have most of the parts to do a linked setup except the arms and 2 axle and frame mounts.

I'll look into it tonight before I make to big of a decision yet.

You could have had the leafs (leaves???) done months ago, so that isn't really a fair argument.

To be technical it could have been a year ago. I'm learning as I go, didn't think it would take this much to do it.

Most of the error is being chalked up as this is my first time and I didn't know any better.

Dude, finish it up with leafs. If you get bored with it two years down the road (when you realize you want a D60) THEN do it with links/arms. As far as engine placement forwards and back, here is a pic of mine, in stock location, that should give you an idea,

That bolt isnt very long. Its in the back of the head, and i couldn't screw it all the way out because it hit that pinch weld on the fire wall.

And here's yours. Looks like you could/should go back at least an inch? If not two?

Is that on the drivers side and how long is the bolt?

I'm just afraid the leafs are not going to work right and I won't be 100% happy.

Really to do the link setup I would have to sell my ORD leafs, bilstein 7100 resi shocks, u bolt plates, brake lines, and diy4x rear shackle hanger. I think if I sold all of that I would be a few hundred short of a linked setup. Not to mention when it's all setup I can have it functioning perfect and just focus on shock tuning.

Nope, nope, nope. It's never that easy. And I see the burn out factor showing up. Finish the truck the way it is. There are thousands of them out there set up like yours. So we all know it can work.

Stick with what you are doing and keep going.

I learning nothing is easy, heck it took 2 hours to put the trans in...

I think I might just push forward with the leaf springs, unless someone wants a packaged deal. :deal:

I should have just linked it from the start, live and learn.

Yup ^^^

Everything I have goofed up I have fixed. I'm just worried about the excessive caster being from the difference in frames.

I'm going to keep going if it turns out to be a huge cluster in the end it's getting linked no questions.

I know I'm done with it, was just a random freak out and talking out loud.

I think mine is just about right to your picture. Is there a way you could measure it?

quick editing on the photo I'm about 2 and a half away from the firewall.

Thanks that is one thing I didn't really plan. I tried to scribe the frame where the old 350 was sitting but by the time I got around to drilling the new holes it was almost gone.

Funny you should mention it! Just got back in from taking pics. No real way of measuring. But I can tell you that the driver side head is only about 3/4 inch from that pinch weld on the fire wall. I'll post the pic as soon as it uploads to photobucket.
