Nice steam tubing detail. If you run into Tony from Texas Square Bodies, tell him “howdy.”

Driving the truck today the front end felt weird, jacking the front end up the nut on the sector shaft was loose and the driver's hub is loose.

I vaguely remember the hardware had a keyway that was broken but we slammed it together for bb15. Who makes good hardware for a 10 bolt d44?

I assume that you can buy new OEM style parts, I haven't looked since I have lots of spares. But you can buy Stage 8 spindle nuts, too.

What's the difference? Is it worth buying the stage 8?
The stage 8 is maybe a little easier to line up the lock tabs vs the little pin on the factory style.
I don't remember having the OEM stuff back off if properly installed, so i don't feel that the Stage 8 claims of theirs not backing off is as big of a deal as they say. However, their lock style seems beefier.
You have to decide if you want to spend the extra money.

On my quest to make it more reliable the transmission pan has been leaking a lot and spotting for to long. Bothering me a lot and coating the underside of the truck. Just bought a replacement pain with drain plug. Hopefully this fixes the issue and will make servicing it easy.

Stage 8 hardware is the only way to go, you literally only need a screw driver and pick to remove the hub nuts and I think it allows better bearing adjustment than the stock type hardware.

Is the locking hub loose OR the whole bearing hub? two different things here.

Bearing hub, aka spindle.

You just convinced me why I need the Stage 8.
