Just realized sense I built the truck I have changed the engine, 5 transmissions and a transfer case and the air cleaner still doesn't need cleaned.

My personal record for 700R4s is 6. I’ll prep the trophy for shipping....I have changed the engine, 5 transmissions and a transfer case...
Hmmmm, you sir are a bad influence. I'll have to look into that is this what you have?My personal record for 700R4s is 6. I’ll prep the trophy for shipping.
If you want the lower first gear, there’s a 2.98 first available for the 4L80. Greg is the man to build one. Cry once.

No. It's still on my want list. I have a plain old 97+ 4L80E, which itself is a substantial improvement over most 4L60Es. It's a big jump, but the payoff in reliability has been worth it.Hmmmm, you sir are a bad influence. I'll have to look into that is this what you have?
Good to know.My personal record for 700R4s is 6. I’ll prep the trophy for shipping.

Most of the driving I do is on the freeway, I would rather just park it until I gather up all the pieces.Doesn't appear to be leaking.
So drive it sanely, up to third gear, limp it along, save you money for a new transmission.
That sucks. I wonder if it had been cracked from prying the cover out previously?Well I was on the right page thinking it was that issue. It would hold together if the case wasn't missing a chunk.

Maybe, I might have put some tention on it before. The case has unknown mileage on it and who knows. That sucks. I wonder if it had been cracked from prying the cover out previously?

The thing is I'm putting the right parts in it and not skipping out. The failures have been user error or stupid reasons. I really think a 4l60e will last perfectly behind it.A ten bolt is a good idea until you have destroyed four of them.
Why keep skimping on transmissions that keep going bad ?
Build the right one now so you never have to build another one again.
We’ve been over this...The thing is I'm putting the right parts in it and not skipping out. The failures have been user error or stupid reasons. I really think a 4l60e will last perfectly behind it.
