I really don't want to buy tires right now especially sense I need a new fuel system. Going to give this a try it's tireject bead sealer that patches up to a 1/4 hole. I need to move it in and out of the side yard and airing it up next to a block wall doesn't sound fun.

Does anyone like these driving updates? Or are they no fun?

All updates are good, tells me to go work on my crap. I noticed play in the driver's side front bearing on my way back from Blazer Bash, Also still need to put some spacers in the ram mount. I have both just haven't done it.

Usually, a tire doesn't crack through both layers as the inside never sees the sun, most of the time that's a puncture. However, yours does look like a crack. If it's all the way through that's not good, especially on the corner of the tread where it flexes a lot just driving down the road. Every single revolution the tire gets flexed and bounces back again, over and over. I would replace that tire, and maybe all of them depending on age, for safety.

Completely agree with you, they are date coded from 2014. The tire leaks at the bottom of every rotation. It needs new tires, just want to wait a little longer while doing these upgrades it needs.

Two new tires ordered cause that was all in stock. 315/75/16 nitto ridge graplers. It's a hybrid tire with the center section or a all terrain and a sidewall of a mud terrain.

Hoping for good results, a little more aggressive then the red label generals.

Because I have 2 on order and the rear will be generals, who's in for a burnout? Lol

2 new tires go on the rear, new tires brake better than worn. Esp on pick up that is ass light, you could be swapping ends more easily with new tires on the front.

I like My Nitto's I have Terra Graplers.

That fix a flat stuff is ok for garage rollers or a lest ditch emergency. After you use it the tire tire must spin for several miles, otherwise it will puddle, and through off the balance.
Once the tire is changed the wheel will need cleaning.
Last if you have TPMS (tire Pressure monitor sensors) it will F them up.

Ideally that is correct but neither is the front 33 I had as a spare to get me home and drove 80 on the freeway...

1 tire mounted, discount tire wouldn't sell me them and my friends at the old dealer I used to work at their machine wouldn't fit. So I ran it over with my brother f250 to break the beed and my friend and I used spoons.

That's an interesting thought. I tend to put new tires on front because they are the steering and braking tires. I guess I get that mindset from big trucks where you're not allowed to put re-caps on the front. Not saying your thinking is wrong, just never thought of it in that perspective.

It is the tire industry standard. Radials as well, if you have 2 bias ply and 2 radials the radials go on the back.
So you are right. The fronts do the majority of the braking, couple that with better tires than the rear, add in a crappy road with snow, water, mud,
A light rear end, no abs, and panic stop.
What happens ?

It just depends on if you would rather have more oversteer or more understeer.

In a truck with most of the weight on the front and the driving tires in the rear, I would agree with Wes, put the new treads on the back so the back has more traction and the back is less likely to pass the front. Unless the new tires are slightly larger and you are actually in 4WD, then the slightly larger pair should go on the front so it wants to pull more instead of the back trying to pass the front again.

If it was a front wheel drive car, then obviously the front would get the best treads.

Interesting theory you guys have, I always have done new on the front because it's the steer axle. I'm going to put them on the front because I want to do a pretty good burnout. :haha:

Well as you heard the whole conversation, it's not as cut and dry, it depends on the truck or car, and how it's being used.
I spent 20 years learning how to manage things and learn all this and then I did the math long term, I am better off getting new tires all around and forget about tires issues for a while.
I got something that helped me a lot in the beginning, it used to be called "car care one"
I think now it's call "synchrony car care"
It's a credit card by synchrony Bank and it's all things automotive, lot of shops accept it and they give you 90 days and sometimes up to 180 days to pay off with no interest.
My tire shop qualified me for it and I have had it for 8 years.

The only reason I have 2 is because they couldn't get 2 more.

Discount tire direct says they have 8 in stock, $310 ea free shipping
I originally tried discount but they wouldn't sell me the tires. The conversation went $1500 mounted, balanced and certs, I asked how much for just the tires and certs, $1600 then asked why did it come up in price if they are not mounting them. Then he asked why I didnt want them to mount them. They wouldn't last time cause my wheel is a 6.5 inch and their book says 8.5 minimum for safety. He puts me on hold and comes back saying sorry I can't make the sell.

I went to my old work and paid 266 per tire... going to have them order 2 more from discount and I'll pick them up.

Big chain tire shops are lame. I stopped by the Tire Factory when I scored my 37's off of Offer Up, and the guy said he couldn't mount load range C tires on a truck with 15's and 8 lugs. But I told him it's a half ton truck anyway. He said bla bla bla no. Then he called my truck a bronco and I knew I was at the wrong shop.
What I should have done to begin with is to stop by my local redneck tire shop, the guy is a wheeler and owns a built Suzuki samurai. He had no problem mounting my stuff up, and for cheap.

Discount tire "Direct" is their warehouse not a store. I have probably bought 30 tires from the warehouse. was really nice when they didn't charge tax and shipped free to Kommiefornia. Most time the prices are better than the DT stores. Have to double check, if you call them and order the salesman can discount more esp if they don't have exactly what you want (wink wink)

Yeah I have 285 75 16 on 6.5" wide wheels, I mounted those and put a cup of air soft bb's in each one
