YesI was thinking ball joints.
YesI was thinking ball joints.
I guess it’s been awhile sense I looked under one
Same way I use it now, I just want boost and diesels have always intrigued me.Curious how you plan to use the truck after the swap? I ask, because taking down a (very well) running and driving truck is no small thing.
What makes the juice worth the squeeze?

I want the diesel in the 82 I have always dreamed of boosting it. I wish I had room for another truck I would swap the 6.0 and Holley into it.Why not find another truck to swap the diesel in , like you did with the white truck?
The emissions junk is what causes a majority of the problems with new diesel engines, aside from the CP4 fuel pumps. Getting rid of the emissions and using a CP3 with external lift pump should be a very reliable package. Yes, the Duramax water pump is more of a job to swap vs Cummins or LS, and there a few other things that can happen, but I have seen quite a few put down a bunch of miles without issues. If I was going for an overland/go way out in the sticks truck I’d stick with an LS. I’d hate to have to try and change parts on a duramax anywhere but home. If it was a tow rig the d max makes sense. To me modern diesels don’t scream the reliability that they once did.

Ohhh I have looked just about every combination possible. I had cad files for putting a gt500 blower on one.I would agree a supercharger would be the ticket. LSA, or do the M122 with adapters. Check out Richard Holdener's YouTube and look up his LS supercharger videos.
