**** man that's a frustrating job. Now. I'm scared of my cam swap lol.
It’s not a hard job, use 3/8 rods and as you put it into the hole rotate the crank to put the lifters up. Mine didn’t stick in the trays and the 5/16 rod didn’t work that well.

Glad that you are heading back together with the engine already.
 
Holley oil pan is on, I just wish for once something would bolt together without modifications. Had to cut the windage tray down some.

Tomorrow it goes back in!
 
You sounded pretty frustrated, glad it's back in. What exactly stripped - and I'm assuming you got that straight?
