To me it looks like sand or dirt from the flood he had.
Plastic has some mud from the flood, the metal pieces have some surface rust.
Do you think they will clean up nicely? any broken tabs or anything?
Just ordered the rear window tracks and carpet.
No everything is good, it's just mud on the plastic.

Trying to put as little filler in it as possible.
That's not going to take much filler..
I know just trying to progress a skill to make it better.

Brand new ones from the factory had it in them days. It's just huge 1" thick mounds of it that aren't cool lol.
In that spot, if you did use filler, use the metal stuff since it's stronger.
I believe Spot weld and sand is the only non filler option really

You can practice on this with a hammer and dolly, it's easier to shape than a wavy piece of sheet metal. Practice makes perfect
