Been a while.
Shannon was very much looking forward to bringing yellow truck with us to the dunes for camping all weekend.
Last wed night I went out and chopped off the cherry bombs and put some thrush mufflers in, just as a quick fix to meet code for the dunes (must be chambered muffler or have spark arrestor).
Just as I finish I decide to check the u joints quick, and realize the front pinion has about 1/4" of slop in it. With no locker in the rear, and tires that don't squat, there was no way she was making it around in 2wd, so we left it.
She was bummed all weekend, but excited to work on it.
The rear u joints were in bad need of replacing (axle side literally had dust in it and a few chunks of what once were needle bearings) and she knew that, so not 5 minutes after getting back today, she is out ripping the rear driveshaft out.
She did all the work, I just pointed and said how.
This short shorts business in the shop could be an issue though....
