1983 K5 trail truck/dd/ R.I.P. 03/14/18

Might as well replace the rear seal too. It's possible to do it with the case in the truck, but it's a lot easier to do it when it's sitting on a workbench (or a tailgate).

You must have done just like me then. The rear seal was easy to get to and replace, so I went ahead and did that in like 5 minutes, but the front one seemed like a pain in the butt to replace, so I was like "the front seal shouldn't leak anyway. The drivetrain is kinda tilted to the rear of the truck, so if the fluid's going to leak out, it should be out of the rear seal, right?" Wrong. :dunno: Now I know.

Did you get the crossover installed?

Do you have flat tops already?

Cool. Is that all ord stuff with the high angle tre's? Post up how you like it :thumb:

I'm going to be ordering the same stuff shortly

I did some work over the weekend,
I installed-
-new upper and lower balljoints, the napa blue boot ones,
-repacked my wheel bearings,
-installed my flat top knuckles
-installed my X over arm
-put in my 2wd steering box and pitman arm
-and new tie rod ends.

it steers pretty good now , I still want an xj shaft there is still some play I want to get rid of.

Once upon a time, i rebuilt my entire front end, only to have the xj shaft make a bigger difference than all the new parts...

Thats what I'm hoping, all the parts with the exception of the long side of my d44 tierod are all brand new and it still feels a bit loose.
