1983 K5 trail truck/dd/ R.I.P. 03/14/18

Somebody needs to wash a Blazer tomorrow. Maybe some pics will show up.....

Finished the NV3500 swap last week, loving it! 2k rpm at 65 is a nice feeling.
Only took 2 curbs to remember to push the clutch in when starting .

The only pics I took haha.

Now I just have to fix the loose pinion that was causing all the noise and I should be good to go for a while.

Well you wanted a man pedal and overdrive anyway

Great find. I have the same axle. Most of the parts if not all are interchangeable. The yoke maybe a 1410 vs the 1350 on older 14 Bolts. I had to get my drive shaft redone. So if you have your old 14bolt switch the yokes and you will be fine.

Even the internals?

Yeap. The only difference I found was the pilot bearing for the pinion. Shafts, carrier, bearings, pinions, ring gear, seals and shims are all the same. This is what I've found. If there is other differences I missed or I'm completely wrong about, I'd like to hear it. In my case it was a win, win. 14 bolt, stock rear disc brakes and ebrake. No matching of parts or fab work to make work.
