1984 K30 "C4" Truggy on Rockwells

Somewhere somehow i think 88-98 columns are shorter. Also maybe a jeep yj could probably bolt in.

I was looking at it more today and I think I’m just going to get a smaller grant style steering wheel. It’ll be cheaper and easier than replacing the steering column and should be a lot more comfortable with the overall setup

Yep, those are it. I have had the black style in my K5 for 5 years. My brother has had these exact tan color ones in his crawler for 8 years. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. Comfortable enough that I can sit in them all day on the trail and not get annoyed, but not break the bank doing it

Are you going with any sort of cage on this thing?

Yes, I'm going exo-cage that will integrate into a "tube bed" in the back. I have an idea in my head...we'll see how it all comes together.

I think I'm going to end up welding some round tube into the cab behind the front two seats (similar to what I did with the dash tube) to attach the harness straps to for the front passengers

Where did you get that fancy switch panel?

I am very happy with the switch panel from him. When you compare what you get from him (and the fact it comes already pre-wired) for the cost compared to others on the market, I feel like he's very reasonably priced

That’s what I was wondering.

that's good information right there!! :pimp1:

Installed an 11.5” grant steering wheel. With the seats sitting up higher than stock (which I really like for visibility) and this being a non-tilt column, this small wheel was the best case scenario. Actually, I really like how small it is. Can now get in and out of the truck way easier, even with the seat slid all the way forward. Also, with the orbital valve I got, the full hydro steering is a little less touchy as compared to the big factory wheel, and it’s essentially right at 2 full turns lock to lock, which should be perfect for Rockwell steering (Rockwell’s don’t steer as far as 1 tons, so you go a lot more lock to lock while wheeling, especially with a longer wheelbase like this). I’m happy with it now

we had a dodge dakota at work with no tilt column, that thing sucked to get in and out of.

So, I was messaging @mrk5 and ended up purchasing his tube doors off him from DIY4x that were designed for the rear of a crew cab or burban. I already had a set of tube doors meant for the front doors on my K5 that I won at the Blazer Bash 2015 bbq raffle. So I decided to throw those on this crew cab (obviously will put the full doors on for muddy/snowy trails or colder weather). I really like the look on this thing. My blazer will either be doorless permanently now, or I may build another set of half doors outta a crappy set of doors I have laying around

Have you ever been to Virtue Flat outside Baker City Oregon? This thing would be fun there.

I want to drive that around my town and through the city. That truck is sexy.

Cut boggers act like paddle tires on the road, haha, but it sure does look mean and will surly scare women and children

No, I've never been there, never really heard of it. What type of wheeling is it? Baker is only about an hour, maybe an hour and a half a way from me

Before I moved, a 4wd group I was with would go there all the time and some guys would come from Boise and Fruitland areas. Its a diverse play area with rock gardens, trails, ravines, dirt play areas, mud (at times), its been about 8 years since I was there and I know they have been adding trails and stuff. also 8 years ago it was the only Oregon OHV park where you did not have to stay on trail.
