1984 K5 LQ9 "Round 2" Assist hoses?

Did the SYE, weld in brace/repair kit, ladder bars, and made my own "bolt in brace"

Quite happy with how everything turned out.. I can actually stand on it and not worry about the atrocious axle wrap and drive-shaft problems I had before:D

Plus.. I can actually drive it with one hand without ****ting bricks now too..

Pix..

SYE:

I went with a F350 front drive-shaft and had it shortened, has anybody had the center bored out to fit onto the 241/208 front output? Or ground the flange on the output flat? Thus being able to use one for a front shaft as well, I was quite impressed with it's spline size... I've "stripped" several front shafts back in the day..

Steering brace kit:

Before grinding

Quite impressed with it's design, definitely worth the money...

And my hillbilly weld in brace, I welded a rod in between 2 of the bolts for the steering box, then added a piece of flat stock that got bolted into the front cross member, added some triangulation, bolted it in... box doesn't move any more.:woot:

Apparently the only picture I've got of the ladder bar parts..

Frame brace prior to back brace

Also had a friendly argument with a friend about where and how I did my ladder bars will limit the truck's "flex" ability. Thus... out came the bobcat to take poser shots depicting more flex than I'll ever put the truck into.. Guess they don't limit the flex too greatly.

We have new kicks folks :)

Also got a PSC drilled/tapped/modded box. 200$ new out the box!!

Is it worth the 180$ for the psc1.75x8 ram kit? Or should I save coin and do a tractor supply 2.0x8 ram?

I want the best street manners..

That weld on steering piece you got...I'm assuming didn't come with the instruction sheet. It's not supposed to be welded 100% solid like that.

Sweet K5, and epic carnage vid though! I initially thought the motor let go the first time I saw it...pretty impressive carnage!!

Thanks... And no... Oops..

The lean, I haven't figured it out. It's got new bushings all through the springs, and the perches are the same height. Yet one shackle is always farther back than the other.. When I get time I'm going to switch springs side to side see if it changes anything.

It's even more so leaned because I didn't hold the phone level.

I just wrapped up doing my ORD 1" Body lift, in the rain no less..

When I closed my tailgate my springs are rubbing the trim piece between the body and bumper..

Any remedies to this other than maybe some washers between the trim and bumper brackets?

I was almost sure I've read that 3/8 is the standard sizing for the assist hose. However my PSC box has male 1/4 ends, and the ram has female 1/4 fitting..

So should I just use some adapters from 1/4 to 3/8? Or just run 1/4" lines?
am
running a 1.5 bore ram

We're going to build 3/8 hoses, and just run adapters, supposed to ride up to make the lines tomorrow.

Brackets came in from Rompinstompinmudmonkey for the Trac-bar..

Came out nicely! I had to drill them out and tweak a couple things due to using a larger heim than he did, and having taller springs. Ended up cutting off my bump stop in order to mount the frame bracket where I wanted it.

Yes, I plan to weld metal between the two brackets to stiffen them up. The way he sent the brackets I hadn't anticipated this, so I didn't have enough 3/16 to start bracing them. I'm also considering building another crossmember to go under the engine one, help tie in the two frame rails.
Let me tell you... This thing drives amazing now..:eek1: Steering reacts like it's got a rack and pinion, very little wander as compared to before. ZERO bump-steer.

Also got a front driveshaft.. then proceeded to hit the trails less than 20 hours later.

I went wheeling this weekend, and installed it today. I'm supposed to go out this weekend as well, so I'll let you know!

Hey man how did you like wheeling with the track bar? I'd like to see some more pics of the ladder bars if you could get some.
